Love diving in Kona. Where is the best dive sight to encounter the "lizzard fish?" Great picture and site.

Thanks for the comment. Lizzard fish are actually pretty common. There are a few species of them and we see them all the time. They're probably at all of the dive sites. I usually just ignore them.

They tend to just sit around on the rocks doing nothing, sort of blending in. I figured I'd take a pic of this one because it was approachable and I wanted to practice using manual focus in macro (which by the way is not all that easy, it's easier to let the camera autofocus).

They are one of those fish that sort of "hide in plain sight". Some people notice them, others don't, as with anything sometimes you develop an eye for certain things over time.
